No introduction given. ************** Idealist.org is a nonprofit foundation that brings together people who are doing good in the world with opportunities to take their efforts to the next level. The blog helps readers find their way to more inspiration, smarter choices, and deeper connections with the social change movement. We also equip organizations with the tools they need to succeed in a free society by honoring individuals for their contributions and connecting them with others who can help them pursue their dreams. The Idealist is a blog by idealists for idealists. Journalists for Human Rights is a global network of reporters, researchers, funders, and activists dedicated to covering human rights issues. Since 2007 Journalist for Human Rights has published more than twenty-five special report packages on Burma/Myanmar, the Philippines, Ukraine and Ukraine's separatist republics of Donetsk and Luhansk based on reporting done by our staff members. We are currently working with reporters in China following the disappearance of the activist Chen Guangcheng.Guangcheng spent more than five years in prison before he escaped to the U.S.in September 2011 where he was under the protection of U.S. diplomats at the United States Embassy in Beijing. Former U.S. Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, who has called for more freedom and transparency in China's legal system, recently spent time with Guangcheng and described his escape as one of the most inspiring moments he has witnessed as a diplomat and said that he wanted to go back and bring other U.S. officials and business leaders with him. Journalist for Human Rights hopes to work directly with Chen so we can bring our readers before-and-after stories on human rights issues across the globe. The Conversation is an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered direct to the public. Our team of professional editors work with universities to get new research out quickly, to make it easier for journalists, policy makers, academics – anyone – to use instantly. We're a not-for-profit because we want to devote all our time to providing independent journalism. So we don't have shareholders or owners who demand a return on their investment. We can keep our prices low and continue to innovate by introducing new services.
